Stephanie Taglietta, kin of News exec, dies

- BY LEONARD GREENE

For Stephanie Taglietta, a New Jersey real estate agent who died last week, it was all about the joy of the moment.

Whether it was wearing crazy costumes for Halloween, her take-no-prisoners approach to board games or doing date night with her husband — her college sweetheart — Taglietta’s life was all about sharing it with the people she cared about, her family said.

Taglietta, the sister-in-law of Daily News Senior Manufacturing Manager Thomas A. Grosso, died peacefully Saturday at her home in Milltown.

She was 43. Relatives remembered Taglietta as a Jersey Shore girl who loved spending time at the beach and the boardwalk. She vacationed in Wildwood Crest her entire life, from her childhood days to her days as wife and mother, bike riding on the boardwalk with her husband and two daughters.

“One of her favorite beach traditions was ringing in the new year in Long Branch with her closest friends despite the frigid temperatures,” her family said in a statement. “It was all about the joy of the moment with Stephanie and sharing it with the people she cared about.”

Taglietta began her career as an event planner for large-scale events. But she found her passion in real estate working hand in hand with her father and business partner.

Family members said she went the extra mile for her clients, and was known for her attention to detail.

Taglietta was a graduate of Bishop George Ahr High School and Rowan University, where she met her future husband, Michael Taglietta. Their 16 years of marriage produced two daughters, Olivia, 11, and Ava, 7.

Their union also produced the neighborhood’s most iconic Halloween parties, where the couple dressed up as Doc and Marty from “Back to the Future” or Harry and Marv from “Home Alone.”

They enjoyed date nights, movie outings and adventurous day trips.

Neighbors said it was common to walk in on spontaneous dance parties, often to “Ice Ice Baby,” the lyrics of which she taught to her daughters.

She indulged them with elaborate forts of blankets and pillows, or countless crafts and drawings.

She read to them, sang to them and used her party planning experience to add something creative to birthdays, holidays and family vacations.

Funeral services will be held Thursday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Bronson & Guthlein Funeral Home on North Main St. in Milltown.

A memorial Mass will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Milltown. Taglietta will be laid to rest at St. Gabriel’s Cemetery in Marlboro, N.J.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Stephanie Taglietta Memorial Fund, which will be used to create a trust for her daughters.
