June 26, 1974: Born in Pequannock, N.J.

June 1, 1992: Taken by Yankees in first round of amateur draft (No. 6 overall).

May 29, 1995: Makes major-league debut with Bombers in Seattle and goes 0-for-5.

May 30, 1995: Collects first hit, a single off Seattle's Tim Belcher.

April 2, 1996: Starts at shortstop for Yankees in season opener in Cleveland and goes 1-for-4, and becomes everyday SS for next 17 seasons (until broken ankle KOs him for start of 2013 season).

Oct. 9, 1996: Jeter lofts ball to right field in Game 1 of ALCS where fan Jeffrey Maier reaches over wall to catch ball above Baltimore's Tony Tarasco. Hit ruled a homer by ump Rich Garcia as Yankees tie game and go on to win, 5-4.

Oct. 26, 1996: Wins first World Series ring at Yankee Stadium after Bombers beat Braves, 3-2, in Game 6 of World Series.

Nov. 4, 1996: Wins AL Rookie of the Year award after batting .314 with 10 HRs and 78 RBI.

Oct. 21, 1998: Wins second World Series ring as Yankees sweep Padres.

Oct. 27, 1999: Wins third World Series ring after Bombers sweep Braves.

July 11, 2000: Earns MVP honors in All-Star Game at Turner Field, going 3-for-3.

Oct. 25, 2000: Jeter hits first pitch of Game 4 of World Series — off Mets' Bobby Jones — into the Shea Stadium seats, as Yankees take 1-0 lead in game and go on to win 3-2.

Oct. 26, 2000: In Subway Series vs. cross-town Mets, Yankees win Fall Classic — their fourth title under Joe Torre — and Jeter is named Series MVP, after batting .409 in five games

Feb. 9, 2001: Signs 10-year, $189 million deal with Yankees.

Oct. 13, 2001: In Game 3 of ALDS vs. A's and Yanks facing eliminatio­n, Jeter orchestrat­es famous Flip Play in 7th inning, retrieving errant Shane Spencer throw from right field, tossing to catcher Jorge Posada, resulting in tag of Jeremy Giambi at home for third out, preserving 1-0 lead.

Nov. 1, 2001: Jeter earns nickname “Mr. November” after smoking solo home run off Arizona's Byung-Hyun Kim in bottom 10th of Game 4 of the World Series — four minutes past midnight — at the Stadium, as Yankees win.

Dec. 29, 2002: In interview with Daily News, George Steinbrenn­er says of Jeter: "When I read in the paper that he's out until 3 a.m. in New York City going to a birthday party, I won't lie. That doesn't sit well with me." The two later dance in a conga line for a Visa commercial.

Feb. 4, 2003: Daily News back page screams, “Party On,” as Jeter says in Tampa that he will not change his lifestyle.

March 31, 2003: Jeter dislocates left shoulder in Toronto after colliding with Blue Jays' catcher Ken Huckaby in top 3rd inning on a double play in Yanks' season opener. Jeter leaves game and goes on 15-day DL.

June 3, 2003: Named 11th captain of Yankees by George Steinbrenn­er while Yankees are in Cincinnati.

Feb. 17, 2004: Jeter attends Yankee Stadium press conference to introduce Alex Rodriguez, and sans smile, helps A-Rod slip on No. 13 jersey.

July 1, 2004: Jeter dives into Stadium stands in top 12th inning after catching a Trot Nixon pop fly, bloodies face and leaves game as Yanks go on to beat Red Sox 5-4 in 13 innings.

Feb. 19, 2007: After Alex Rodriguez holds press conference during spring training that he and Jeter aren't close anymore, the Yankee captain tells Daily News, "The only thing that should matter is that we play on the same team; we're both trying to win, we root for each other, we pull for each other and support each other. That's about it."

Sept. 21, 2008: With Yankees failing to make postseason for first time in his major league career, Jeter salutes fans in stirring speech at old Yankee Stadium as Bombers prepare to christen new Stadium across the street.

Sept. 11, 2009: Jeter moves past Lou Gehrig as club's all-time hits leader with hit No. 2,722, an opposite-field single off Baltimore's Chris Tillman.

Nov. 4, 2009: Wins fifth World Series ring as Yankees knock off Phillies in six games, and celebrates with then-girlfriend Minka Kelly in Stadium clubhouse.

July 9, 2011: Collects hit No. 3,000, a home run off Tampa Bay's David Price, and goes 5-for-5 on the day.

Oct. 13, 2012: Breaks left ankle in Game 1 of ALCS vs. Tigers at Stadium, ranging for ground ball in top 12th inning.

April 1, 2013: Misses Opening Day for first time since becoming starting shortstop, and plays in only 17 games in 2013.

Sept. 26, 2013: In emotional Stadium moment, Jeter and Andy Pettitte remove Mariano Rivera from game, the closer's last game of his career.

Feb. 12, 2014: Announces 2014 season will be his last, via letter on his Facebook page.

July 15, 2014: Plays in 14th All-Star game. Jeter exits game in the top of the fourth to standing ovation.

Sept. 25, 2014: Plays final game at Yankee Stadium and hits walk-off single as the Yankees beat the Orioles 6-5.

Sept. 28, 2014: Plays final game against Red Sox at Fenway Park and goes 1-for-2 with a RBI and exits the game during the top of the third. The Fenway crowd sends him off with a standing ovation.

Oct. 1, 2014: Launches media company, The Player's Tribune.

July 9, 2016: Marries model and television host Hannah Davis.

May 14, 2017: Becomes 22nd

player to have his number (No. 2) retired by the Yankees. Team unveils his plaque in Monument Park.

Aug. 11, 2017: Becomes part owner/CEO of the Marlins along with businessma­n Bruce Sherman and a group of 16 investors in the reported $1.2 billion purchase.

Aug. 17, 2018: Welcomes his first child, Bella Raine Jeter.

Jan. 31, 2019: Announces birth of second child, Story Grey Jeter, on The Player’s Tribune.

Jan. 21, 2020: Inducted into the Hall of Fame with 99.7% of the vote, falling just one vote shy of joining Mariano Rivera with a perfect ballot.

April 29, 2020: The Hall of Fame voted unanimousl­y to cancel the 2020 Induction Weekend events due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

June 9, 2021: The Hall of Fame announces the induction ceremony for Jeter and the rest of the 2020 class will take place on Wednesday, Sept.

8. A TV only event had been planned for July 25, but a move was made to allow for a limited crowd to witness the festivitie­s.
