Charges have been upgraded to manslaughter against a driver with over 100 past traffic violations now accused of fatally striking a 3-month-old girl in Brooklyn.

Tyrik Mott, 28, was allegedly driving a 2017 Honda Civic the wrong way on Gates Ave. in Clinton Hill when he slammed into a 2020 Honda Civic at Vanderbilt Ave. Sept. 11., police said.

The impact propelled both Hondas onto the sidewalk, crashing into the infant, Apolline Mong-Guillemin, her mother and a 36-year old male relative.

EMS rushed little Apolline to Brooklyn Hospital where she died with a collapsed lung shortly after, sources said. Apolline’s mother was hospitalized in serious condition.

The male relative and the 49-year-old driver of the Civic Mott is accused of striking were also hospitalized, officials said.

Mott then allegedly attempted to carjack another driver’s Hyundai nearby before he was arrested.

Mott’s vehicle had racked up 160 traffic violations since June 2017. In 2021, the car was caught on camera speeding in school zones 35 times and seven times for failing to stop at red lights.

He was arrested and arraigned Sunday on charges of attempted grand larceny, attempted robbery and attempted unauthorized use of a vehicle, charges all stemming from the attempted carjacking.

The new grand jury charge of manslaughter was revealed by prosecutors when Mott appeared in Brooklyn Criminal Court Friday.

On Friday, a Brooklyn jury indicted Mott with a top charge of second-degree manslaughter.
