ZETA CHARTER SCHOOLS High-Performing Charter to

GROW TO MIDDLE SCHOOL Serve Pre-K to Sixth Grade this Fall

-

Zeta Charter Schools has a lot to celebrate. The high-performing charter network recognized its 5th anniversary this year along with the opening of its largest permanent, private facility to date and is preparing to launch its first two middle schools this coming August. Zeta’s schools are top performers in the neighborhoods they serve and receive rave reviews from families, which is no surprise given Zeta was founded by a parent: Emily Kim.

Ms. Kim is dedicated to providing all children with the same education she seeks for her own: “No hoop jumping, no college-admissions-like application process, no struggle to learn how your student is doing or how you can get involved. Just excellent, equitable, free, whole-child public education, which is a right of every child—this is our promise at Zeta, four years old to college.”

A next-generation model

Zeta Charter Schools is committed to this vision and to an innovative, whole-child approach that prepares students for participation and leadership in the modern world economy. Zeta’s commitment starts with a foundation of world-class academics, including science, every day. Zeta’s whole-child approach focuses on social-emotional learning, a mindfulness program, and a wide variety of enrichment activities, including Zeta Innovation Lab, art, chess, dance, soccer, Taekwondo, sports, music, violin, viola, cello, and choir.

Zeta’s custom-designed middle school curriculum will offer the combination of rigorous academics and whole-child education that Zeta is known for. Zeta middle schoolers will also have a wide variety of specialties to choose from across fine arts, performing arts, technology, sports, and innovation offerings. Students will be prepared to take the Regents exams in Algebra and Living Environment by the end of eighth grade.

To ensure a truly world-class education, Zeta schools are specially designed and outfitted with the latest classroom technology, cafeterias, spacious gymnasiums, and auditoriums, rooftop playspaces, cutting-edge innovation labs, music rooms, and recording studios.

Zeta students are lifelong learners, problem solvers, and innovators. Zeta envisions a future for their students in which they carry

forward their holistic education into everything they do.

A whole-child design that delivers impressive results

Zeta’s students’ academic performance has earned the network a top-3 rank compared to their community district counterparts and a top-4 rank across all NYC charter schools. Zeta students across all grades outperformed their counterparts in district schools by up to 25 points, and 98% of Zeta’s fourth graders passed the New York State Science Test in 2022.

Zeta currently operates six Bronx and Upper Manhattan campuses, offering Pre-K through 5th grade and serving over 2,000 students. In August 2023, Zeta will launch its first middle schools, starting with 6th grade. Each year, Zeta schools add a grade and will

eventually grow to serve Pre-K through 12th-grade students.
