NYU Sports Film Festival is Back
Lights, camera, action! The fourth annual NYU Sports Film Festival (NYUSFF) will once again bring filmmakers, sports aficionados, and storytelling enthusiasts together for a celebration of creativity, passion, and the enduring bond between sports and film on April 26-27.
The NYUSFF is a collaborative effort involving the NYU Production Lab, NYU Athletics, and NYU Preston Robert Tisch Institute for Global Sport. Supported by NYU Tisch Undergraduate Film & TV and SportsNet New York (SNY), the festival remains committed to pushing the boundaries of sports and cinematic artistry. With the addition of Red Bull as a partner, this year’s festivities are expected to ramp up the excitement and creativity.
Attendees can expect screenings of selected short films, insightful Q&A sessions with honorees, engaging industry panels, pitch presentations, a networking reception, and an eagerly anticipated awards ceremony.
Submissions Still Open
Filmmakers from all walks of life are invited to submit their entries via FilmFreeway at filmfreeway.com/NYUSFF, until March 15.
The festival is calling for submissions in three main categories: Open Documentary, Open Narrative, and Action Sports x Red Bull. These categories provide a diverse range of opportunities for both seasoned professionals and emerging talents to showcase their work and explore the captivating world of sports storytelling.
In addition to the main categories, the festival is also spotlighting talent within the NYU community with the NYU Documentary, NYU Narrative, and NYU Pitch Contest categories. Students and alumni are encouraged to participate and share their unique perspectives on sports through the art of filmmaking.
