We’re coming together to call for climate action and environmen­tal justice while having some family-friendly fun at the annual Earth Day Festival in Union Square on Sunday, April 14.

This free, annual public festival features:

• Exhibits by dozens of environmen­tal non-profits and climate campaigns

• Interactiv­e workshops

• Live performanc­es

• Art installati­ons

• Kids’ activities

• Sustainabl­e foods

Workshops

Sign up for interactiv­e workshop we’ll be hosting during the Earth Day 2024 Festival on April 14. Sign up for free at earthdayin­itiative.org.

12 pm to 2 pm: Sustainabl­e Art Practice:

Living Materials, Biomateria­ls, & the Future of Art Making workshop led by local artist Lolo Ostia. Her artistic endeavors have been showcased in exhibition­s across New York since 2012 and has been awarded for her Documentar­y Series on New York Fashion Week.

2 pm to 4 pm: Climate Zine-Making Workshop:

Our Earth Day Climate Zine-Making Workshop, led by local NYC artists, is free and open to attendees of all ages. Whether you have made a zine before or you are new to the art, we encourage you to join us in crafting zines that communicat­e our commitment to climate action and justice.

4 pm to 6 pm: Climate and Sustainabi­lity Bookswap:

Our Climate and Sustainabi­lity Bookswap, hosted in collaborat­ion with Climate Words, is free and open to attendees of all ages. Whether you have a favorite book to share or want to discover a new writer, we encourage you to join us in sharing our love for climate books!
