The Mayor vs. The People: De Blasio’s Reign of Error

-

The Post’s synopsis of Mayor de Blasio as “Kaiser Wilhelm” is spoton (Editorial, Feb. 22).

The former public advocate who championed transparency is, thus far, about as clear as smoke and mirrors. Steve Dessin

If de Blasio refuses to answer the media’s questions about the unauthorized reckless driving of his police security, then the media should boycott his press releases. What would de Blasio do if he were to shovel snow from the front of his house and there were no media to cover it? Robert McKenna

Only two months into his reign as mayor, and he skirts laws, uses classwarfare rhetoric, uses political power to stack his offices and alienates the NYPD.

Sounds like somebody we have in the White House, doesn’t it? Let’s face it — de Blasio is just another version of President Obama. Marty Lee

De Blasio has proved that he is not only a hypocrite, but probably a oneterm mayor.

His detail speeds through the streets, and he blames NYPD protocols after telling us we have to slow down and obey the laws. His administration apparently de cided that the Upper East Side should not be plowed first during a recent snowstorm, causing parts of this great city to come to a halt and putting children’s and bus drivers’ lives at risk.

What have we gotten ourselves into?

With all the troubles around the world and at home, why did The Post choose to make Saturday’s front page about de Blasio’s jaywalking?

I know The Post disagrees with de Blasio, since he’s a progressive who’s had the nerve to propose raising taxes on the wealthiest New Yorkers so city kids can receive more support at school and perhaps have a better chance to attain the “American dream.” But trivial attacks just make The Post look partisan. I am amazed that New Yorkers are upset over de Blasio’s recent behavior — ignoring traffic laws, jaywalking and making a latenight call about his friend in jail.

You elected a Fidel Castro, not an Abraham Lincoln. Now you have to live with it. Bill Dancosse

A big thank you to the reporters who are following Mayor de Blasio.

We thought his “tale of two cities” meant the rich versus the poor. Apparently, what he really meant was him and his cronies — like Bishop Orlando Findlayter — versus the rest of us.

Thanks for exposing him for the hypocrite he is. Edythe Scro
