Tim Cook’s Beats buy lands Knicks star $30M
THE first thing on the mind of NY Knicks star
Carmelo Anthony may not be cash as he weighs whether to opt out of his current contract.
The $21 million Anthony got this season comes up a little short of the $30 million he realized when Apple CEO Tim Cook agreed to buy Beats headphones for $3 billion.
The 29yearold Knick had a knack for business back in 2008, when he opted to take a stake in the fledgling music tech company instead of cash for endorsing the headphones.
Some basketball mavens have posited that the Beats windfall could make Anthony feel a lot better about taking a pay cut for next season and make the move down to Miami to join Lebron
James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh.
