Jets’ site trashes GM Idzik in video

- By BART HUBBUCH

If John Idzik didn’t think he was on thin ice by now, a video featured prominently on the Jets’ official website Friday sent the message loud and clear.

The stunning video, narrated by the team’s “senior reporter,” was little more than a fourminute catalogue of the mistakes made in the draft and free agency by Idzik since taking over as general manager after the 2012 season.

The prominence of the video — it was the lead item on the site for several hours Friday — only fueled speculation that owner Woody Johnson is ready to demote or fire Idzik along with coach Rex Ryan when the Jets’ season ends Sunday.

The video wasn’t the first strong indication that Johnson has soured on Idzik. A league source told The Post’s Brian Costello this week that Johnson plans to hire former Texans GM Charley Casserly as one of three or four organizational consultants, a group that reportedly also could include former Packers GM Ron Wolf.

Center Nick Mangold (ankle) and wide receiver Percy Harvin (ankle and ribs) practiced on a limited basis Friday, but Ryan said each player would be a gametime decision for Sunday’s season finale.

Harvin indicated he intends to play, even though he has a thirddegree ankle sprain and the rib injury is to his cartilage.

“The biggest thing is pain tolerance,” Harvin said. “I just feel like I’m good enough to give it a try. I’m going in feeling I’m going to play.”

Ryan sounded much less optimistic Mangold would play, underscoring that by discussing backup Dal

ton Freeman at length.

Ryan couldn’t resist taking a jab at former cornerback Josh Thomas on Friday after Thomas claimed this month the Jets coaches don’t develop their players.

Asked about the impressive recent play of cornerback Marcus Wil

liams, Ryan invoked Thomas (who signed with the Lions) in response.

“He has really taken to coaching,” Ryan said of Williams. “For some reason he got coached and Josh Thomas didn’t. Still trying to figure that one out.”
