NYPD DAILY CRIME BLOTTER

-

The Bronx

The suspected thief pictured above posed as an undercover cop and tricked a naive man into handing over his wallet in Fordham Heights, authorities said.

The victim climbed into the back of a white Acura at East 183rd Street and Jerome Avenue at 5 a.m. on May 30, believing the vehicle was a taxi, police said.

During the trip, the driver identified himself as a cop, and said he needed to see the victim’s wallet to check for identification, officials said.

The victim handed the wallet to the driver, who looked through it and then returned it, cops said.

The victim was dropped off at East 198th Street and Grand Concourse, then realized $200 was missing from his wallet, and his ATM card had been switched for one previously reported stolen, cops said.

A physical description of the suspect was not immediately available.

Police are looking for a robber who struck at a Kingsbridge apartment building, according to police.

At approximately 8 p.m. on June 11, the thief managed to get into the building at 91 Van Cortlandt Ave., authorities said.

Then he broke into the superintendent’s storage area, cops said.

He grabbed a sander and fled from the scene, said authorities.

The suspect was seen wearing a black hat and gloves in surveillance-video images.

Manhattan

Officials have increased to $12,500 the reward for information leading to the apprehension of a career criminal who fled police custody in Harlem.

The Chief of Detectives Office has ponied up $10,000 in addition to the $2,500 offered by The Police Foundation for information leading to the arrest of Tareek Arnold (above).

A cop was escorting Arnold, 23, from the 32nd Precinct station house to a squad car at 7:20 p.m. on June 23, when Arnold shoved the lawman to the ground and took off running, cops said.

At the time of his escape, Arnold was on his way to Manhattan Criminal Court for arraignment on an at temptedmurder rap after allegedly shooting a man four times at West 140th Street and Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Boulevard on June 8, police said.

Arnold, who had his wrists cuffed behind his back, was last seen wearing a gray hoodie, white Tshirt, gray sweat pants and gray sneakers.

He has black hair, brown eyes and tattoos reading “Troll” and “Militant Soldiers.”

A motorist in lower Manhattan attacked an NYPD traffic agent writing him a summons, police sources said.

Idare Forde, 30, was in his car parked in a no-standing zone at Beaver and Williams streets on June 24 when the agent walked up and began writing the ticket, sources said.

The two exchanged words, cops said, then Forde allegedly punched the peace officer in the face repeatedly, police sources said.

The NYPD employee suffered hand and eye abrasions, authorities said.

Forde faces assault charges.

Queens

Police arrested the man they believe is responsible for an attempted rape in Woodside, said lawenforcement authorities.

Larry Williams, 24, allegedly trailed the victim into her Woodside apartment building at 9:15 a.m. last Thursday, cops said.

He allegedly followed her up to her floor and tried to pull down her pants as she unlocked her door, cops said.

The scrappy victim was able to beat back the creep, rush into her apartment and lock the door behind her, police sources said.

Williams tried to push open the door, but ran off when it wouldn’t give. The victim was not injured.

He has been charged with attempted rape, forcible touching, burglary and sex abuse, cops said.

Brooklyn

A guntoting numbskull thoughtlessly fired several bullets into the air on a Fort Greene street, sending one round sailing into the window of an apartment building, cops said.

The hellraiser was walking near South Portland Avenue and Fulton Street at 3:15 a.m. on June 21 when he pulled his weapon, pointed it skyward and fired several shots.

No injuries were reported.

The thug who gunned down a 37yearold livery cabdriver in Bedford-Stuyvesant Monday has been identified as Unique Gray, 23, of Brooklyn, cops said.

Gray — who is still at large — allegedly shot livery driver Naji Fawaz in the chest and neck during a robbery attempt, and then left him for dead.
