Cops hunt firework jerk

Police are looking for the firebug who tossed some leftover Fourth of July firecrackers into a marked patrol car and set it ablaze in Fort Greene.

The man was standing on Carlton Avenue near Atlantic Avenue when he threw a consumergrade aerial shell firework inside the police cruiser at around 3: 30 a. m. on Sunday, according to cops.

The fireworks erupted into flames and caused “substantial damage” to the interior of the car, police said.
