A US appeals court upheld the conviction of Bassam Salman, who prosecutors said made $ 1.2 million trading on inside info about mergers involving clients of Citigroup, his brotherinlaw’s employer. Salman argued that prosecutors had to prove his relative got a tangible benefit for his tips.
