This Canadian was a dog’s best friend.

Shawn Hanson and his yearold dachshund were headed for a fishing trip in rural British Columbia when a cougar grabbed the hot dog-shaped hound.

Thinking quickly, Hanson punched the cougar in the face. The big cat dropped the little dog, now recovering from puncture wounds.

The force is strong with this heartbroke­n Minnesota widower.

Kevin Doyle, 57, is expected to arrive at ComicCon Internatio­nal in San Diego on Thursday after traveling 600 miles — on foot, wearing a “Star Wars” Stormtroop­er costume.
