NBA: Lin reveals Hornets deal on Instagram

Jeremy Lin took to social media Wednesday night to announce he will sign with the Hornets. He posted an image of the team’s logo on Instagram.

“Iwanted to be on a team where Iwould be able to play freely and truly play the game I love with joy again,” he later wrote on Facebook.

The NBA salary cap was set for next season at $ 70 million, a higher than expected number that paves theway for freeagent contracts to be signed.

MLB: Royals’ Gordon leaves with groin strain

Royals All-Star outfielder Alex Gordon had tobe carted off the field Wednesday night in the fourth inning of a 97 victory over the Rays in Kansas City, Mo.

Gordonwas diagnosed with a severe groin strain, one manager Ned Yost fears could sideline him for months.

“He heard it pop, which isn’t good,” Yost said. “The doctors didn’t think it detached from the bone, which is a good thing. But it kind of took the wind out of the sails.”
