Entrepreneurs fêted at fancy NYC party

US Ambassador to Spain James Costos and White House interiordesign star Michael S. Smith hosted a party at their Upper East Side duplex for American and Spanish entrepreneurs last Thursday night. Guests included ABC anchor George Stephanopoulos and his wife, Ali Wentworth — who also used the Democratic darling and acclaimed decorator Smith to decorate their Manhattan apartment. Also there were Google’s Eric Schmidt, who just opened a new Google Campus in Madrid and Ford Foundation head Darren Walker. We’re told topics covered at the bash included the king and queen of Spain’s upcoming f irst off icial White House visit on Tuesday and Smith’s remake of the US Embassy in Madrid, recently celebrated in the pages of Architectural Digest.
