HEISMAN WATCH

-

RB Ezekiel Elliott, Ohio St. Even when Elliott fails to break a big run, he’s effective. Case in point: His long on Saturday was 13 yards, yet the junior still reached 100 yards and found pay dirt three times in a 38-0 shutout of Hawaii.

QB Trevone Boykin, TCU After an underwhelming opener, Boykin looked more like the player we picked to win the Heisman, throwing four touchdown passes in a 70-7 destruction of Stephen F. Austin.

QB Cody Kessler, USC The senior has missed just 12 passes in 57 attempts through two games, throwing for 650 yards, seven touchdowns, no interceptions and an absurd 78.9 completion percentage. RB Nick Chubb, Georgia No sophomore slump for this speedster. He continues to turn defenses into mush, rushing for 189 yards on 19 carries in Georgia’s 31-14 win over Vanderbilt.

RB Leonard Fournette, LSU Fournette was the LSU offense Saturday night in its big 21-19 win at Mississippi State, producing all three Tigers touchdowns and 159 rushing yards.
