Threat to sue Janet

JANET Jackson is riding high with a No. 1 album and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nomination, but her comeback may be interrupted by some legal drama. Producer Seven Aurelius — who’s worked with Mariah Carey, Lenny Kravitz and Michael Jackson — is threatening to sue Janet and her management after she reportedly denied ever working with him and said a collaboration he posted online was a hoax. Aurelius uploaded “S.E.X.L.I.N.E.S,” a 2003 unmastered track he claims to have produced with Jackson, who just released new album “Unbreakable” on Oct. 2. He called it “an exclusive gift for Janet fans” on SoundCloud, adding, “I spent a lot of time with Janet. She is my favorite artist to work with and produce.” But Aurelius’ rep, Melanie A. Bonvicino, told us his SoundCloud and YouTube accounts were “unceremoniously deleted without notice,” and that he suspects Jackson’s camp was responsible. A SoundCloud rep said: “If we’re told that any content has been posted without permission, we need to remove that content in accordance with applicable law.” Music blog the Boombox posted a statement from Jackson, saying of Aurelius’ tune: “Miss Jackson has no interest in being associated with this song since she did not write it, produce it or perform in it. It is a hoax.” Bonvicino insists it’s legit and said Jackson flew Aurelius to Minneapolis to work with her: “They’re friends. It completely blinded him that they would discredit his work. Our legal team is pursuing vigorous legal remedy.” The Boombox removed its story after we contacted Jackson’s team, who informed us, “No comments were made to the media.”
