Vid of another slaying by officer

- By JOE TACOPINO

A black man was fatally shot by police during a minor traffic stop in Falcon Heights, Minn., Wednesday — and his girlfriend recorded the bloody aftermath on Facebook while crying out that the officer opened fire “for no apparent reason.”

The victim, 32-year-old Philando Castile, can be seen lying in the passenger seat of the car with his T-shirt drenched in blood as his girlfriend begins recording.

The Minneapolis CBS affili- ate reported that Castile was declared dead after being taken to a local hospital.

During the traffic stop, the officer “asked him for license and registration,” the woman explains in the video.

“He told him that it was in his wallet, but he had a pistol on him because he’s licensed to carry. The officer said don’t move. As he was putting his hands back up, the officer shot him in the arm four or five times,” she said.

As the video plays, a police officer can be seen with his weapon drawn and pointing inside the car, where a young girl is in the back seat.

“F--k! I told him not to reach for it,” the officer can be heard shouting. “I told him to get his hand out.”

The woman calmly responds, “You told him to get his ID, sir. His driver’s license.”

The video was posted to the Facebook page of Lavish Reynolds, but it was not clear whether she was the same woman in the car.

During the 10-minute video, the woman and her 4-year-old daughter are ordered out of the car, and the mother claims that they were pulled over for a broken taillight before the shooting took place.

“Please don’t tell me my boyfriend’s gone,” the woman says in the video.

“He don’t deserve this, please. He works for St. Paul public schools. He’s never been in jail, anything. He’s not a gang member, anything.”

Castile is listed as a cafeteria supervisor at a local elementary school. A Facebook page for Castile says that he studied at the University of Minnesota.
