Comey the Coward: Letting Hillary Off Scot-Free

THE ISSUE: FBI Director James Comey’s decision not to recommend charges against Hillary Clinton.

-

FBI Director James Comey laid out the perfect case for us not to vote for Hillary Clinton for president (“Hill Skates,” July 9).

She’s a serial liar and hasn’t been held accountable. Now the nation is getting ready to crown her with the highest and most powerful office in the land.

This isn’t only extremely careless, but worse — extremely dangerous.

If Comey had any testosterone left in his tanks, he would have recommended charges. Robert Torres Queens Village

Clinton is the new “Teflon Don.” Contrary to what Comey told the public, there was intent to deceive the public.

Clinton made fraudulent statements to the public, telling everyone there were no classified e-mails on her server.

She intended to have a private server to hide her private dealings while employed as secretary of state and ignored State Department policy.

She intended to override security protocols when she had one of her aides change the heading of a secured e-mail and send it over an unsecured server.

And “intent” wasn’t even a prerequisite to bring charges, regardless. Comey’s statement of Clinton’s “extreme carelessness” in the handling of her e-mails fits the crimes in the US criminal code. Gregory Topliff Warrenville, SC

In just a few minutes, Comey destroyed a career and flushed the FBI’s reputation down the toilet.

He should be ashamed of himself. George Johansen Peekskill

The decision to not recommend charges against Hillary is a perfect example of what our federal government has come to.

This is a kleptocracy in its finest hour. An elite member of the 1 percent is found guilty of extreme carelessness with very classified information and lying about it.

Yet because her name is Clinton, no worries: The FBI director feels she didn’t do it intentionally, so all is well.

If only Richard Nixon would have known, he could have changed his name to Clinton and all would have been fine. So sad. Michael Patracuolla Bloomfield, NJ

Well, it’s official: The United States is a lawless country.

Comey’s tortured explanation of why he isn’t recommending charges has validated the idea that we have a two-level system of justice.

Just like Cuba, Venezuela and Russia, we have one system for Washington and another for taxpayers. Steve Gidumal Manhattan All this talk about Comey being indepen- dent and a straightshooter turned out to be nothing but bull.

In spite of the overwhelming evidence against Clinton, he can’t find any reason to bring charges against her.

Like her, it turns out Comey’s nothing but a political hack doing President Obama’s and Hillary’s bidding.

All of these politicians and government employees live in a cesspool.

When will the American people wake up and say enough is enough? Hopefully, come this November. Joseph Papalia Rockville Centre

Comey will be remembered as the puppet whose strings were pulled by the Clinton/ Obama sleaze machine. Gerald Jacobs Manhattan

When did “no intent” qualify as an excuse for committing a crime?

Every citizen can claim no intent now? Just try it and see how far it gets you.

The Democratic Party should be called the Obama-Clinton crime syndicate. Jack Lacey Southhold
