New-look Knicks

The Knicks’ roster is starting to take shape after Phil Jackson’s offseason moves. Here’s a glimpse at what the team looks like now:

STARTING FIVE

DERRICK ROSE, PG

2015-16 stats: 16.4 ppg, 4.7 apg, 3.4 rpg After competent 66-game season, the Knicks hope they can squeeze 75 contests out of 2011 MVP.

COURTNEY LEE, SG

2015-16 stats: 9.6 ppg, 1.7 apg, 2.6 rpg Do-everything, smart 2-guard who can knock down a 3-pointer and defend well.

JOAKIM NOAH, C

2015-16 stats: 4.3 ppg, 3.8 apg, 8.8 rpg Grinding enforcer on defense, surprisingly sweet passer on offense, and a team leader. KRISTAPS PORZINGIS, PF

2015-16 stats: 14.3 ppg, 1.3 apg, 7.3 rpg Latvian phenom should only look better, stronger and not hit a wall as sophomore.

CARMELO ANTHONY, SF

2015-16 stats: 21.8 ppg, 4.2 apg, 7.7 rpg Perennial All-Star feels he’ll be more explosive further removed from knee surgery; already been told to get in better shape for coach Jeff Hornacek’s transition attack.

BENCH

BRANDON JENNINGS, PG

2015-16 stats: 6.9 ppg, 3.5 apg, 2.0 rpg Didn’t look like the same dynamo after 2015 Achilles surgery, but young enough to get it back.

LANCE THOMAS, SF/PF

2015-16 stats: 8.2 ppg, 0.9 apg, 2.2 rpg Was their best bench guy with hustling defense, 3-point prowess before late-season knee woes.

JUSTIN HOLIDAY, SG

2015-16 stats: 4.5 ppg, 1.1 apg, 1.7 rpg Not just a Rose throw-in — as Knicks see him as a good defender and athletic.

KYLE O’QUINN, PF/C

2015-16 stats: 4.8 ppg, 1.1 apg, 3.8 rpg Will look to make amends for a disappointing first year in New York with a significant weight loss.

WILLY HERNANGOMEZ, C

2015-16 stats: 5.8 ppg, 0.4 apg, 3.7 rpg (Real-Madrid) Might be fringe rotation player as rookie after not playing a lot of minutes in Spain, but Porzingis already touted him as real deal.

MINDAUGAS KUZMINSKAS, SF

2015-16 stats: 11.1 ppg, 1.1 apg, 3.2 rpg (Unicaja) Depending on adjustment, rookie 6-foot-9 small forward from Lithuiania with good driving ability will be either key backup piece or spend quality time in Westchester for D-Leaguers.
