Weird true

- David K. Li, Wires

Long live 113-year-old Jersey girl Adele Dunlap.

She was named America’s oldest person after Goldie Michelson of Worcester, Mass., died this month at the age of 113.

Like any true American, Dunlap — who lives at the Country Arch Care Center in rural Pittstown — lies about her age, insisting she’s only 104.

But documents show she was born on Dec. 12, 1902.

He’s clean, sober and ready to face the world — on all fours.

Bubba, a Jack Russell-Chihuahua puppy found high on drugs in Tustin, Calif., has been given a clean bill of health by vets and is ready for adoption.

Bubba was rescued in March from a motel room in Tulsa. His unsteady stance prompted tests that revealed the pooch was high on methamphetamine and heroin.

Here’s one small businessman — and his mule — fighting government red tape.

Idaho entrepreneur Matt Bishop and his mule have been serving coffee to hikers in the Boise foothills since May, despite not having the proper licenses to operate on federal lands.

But Bishop scored a workaround, securing permission from private landowners who provide easements for the Ridge to Rivers trail system.

Odor in the court, odor in the court!

Six people complained of nausea when strong fumes from a burned-out water fountain condenser spread through the Gilbert Municipal Court in Arizona.

Four had to go to the hospital and the building was temporarily evacuated.

Good thing this cowboy knows the ropes.

Jim Hawkins, owner of a B&B in Glenwood Springs, Colo., needed just one throw of his lasso to capture a bear who got its head stuck in a plastic container.

The ropework allowed wildlife officers to tranquilize the beast, cut the container off its head and release it back into the wild.
