Robocall crackdown

Major phone companies should take immediate steps to make available to consumers at no charge the technology that blocks unwanted automated calls, the chairman of the Federal Communications Commission said Friday.

FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler said so-called robocalls, often from telemarketers or scam artists, continue “due in large part to industry inaction.”
