Trump jump in poll
Donald Trump got a big bounce from last week’s Republican convention and now leads Hillary Clinton in the race for the White House, according to a national poll released Monday.
A CNN survey conducted Friday through Sunday shows Trump with 44 percent, Clinton 39, Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson 9 and Green Party nominee Jill Stein 3.
When respondents were given just two choices, Trump led, 48 to 45.
The previous week, Trump was trailing Clinton 49 to 42 in the same poll.
This is Trump’s best showing in a CNN poll since September 2015, when he held a 45-40 edge.
