Dems deem Donald ‘over’

- Cindy Adams

PHILADELPHIA — America. Land of the free, home of the brave, e pluri

bus unum, amber waves of grain, stars and stripes, Old Glory, ’tis of thee, Niagara, Grand Canyon, the Rockies, the Redwoods, Yosemite. And today, our presidential teeter-totter ends where our country began.

Philadelphia. A brick house bears the bronze plaque “Birthplace of the United States of America.” There’s a quill pen and the chair in which Washington sat to sign the Constitution.

Hancock, Hamilton, Franklin, James Madison, James Monroe. Heroes today. Then, just humans with maybe cranky wives or pesky gastritis.

Today’s biggies? Gov. Andrew Cuomo, who walked from CNN Grill’s long wooden bench to kiss me, despite my hamburger dribbling ketchup, and he said: “Hillary won it tonight. Could be over for Donald.” Anderson Cooper in dungarees. Lester Holt, pressed blue suit, crisp shirt, silk tie and someone noting: “Gorgeous. So well-turned out.” Kirsten Gillibrand: “Let’s make sure our pensions stay where they are.”

At last week’s Republican cookout, Harlem Baptist minister Michel

Faulkner, an African-American, said: “Remember, we started this party.”

This week’s new DNC chairwoman is African-American Donna Bra

zile, who can manage anything. Arriving late for one meeting, she told me: “My bag’s heavy. Every- one carries it. Result is, I lost my bag, my cell, my schedule and my mind.”

And trolling the Logan hotel’s lobby alone, a tall, handsome young man introducing himself with: “Hi. I’m Hunter Biden.”
