OH, BROTHER

-

There may be another pair of siblings to keep an eye this U.S. Open besides the Williams’ sisters.

German brothers Alexander (top left, also known as Sasha) and Mischa Zverev both advanced to the second round of the men’s singles — the first time they have both played in the same Grand Slam singles draw. Sasha, 19, is the No. 27 seed, while Mischa, 29, is ranked No. 127 in the world. Mischa had been winless in Grand Slam matches going back to Wimbledon in 2009. He now lines up against American Jack Sock in the second round, while Sasha draws Englishman Daniel Evans.

The Zverev brothers are coached by their father, and the very unlikely way they could meet would be in the semifinals.
