Staten Island

Port Authority police stopped a motorist who crossed the Outerbridge Crossing and blew through an E-Z Pass lane without the necessary electronic tag — and cops soon learned he’s a deadbeat who owes more than $20,000 in unpaid tolls, authorities said Wednesday.

A PA cop in his patrol vehicle at the toll plaza saw Levert Caldwell’s Jeep Cherokee sail through an E-Z Pass lane and set off a “not paid” alarm at about 9 a.m. Tuesday, officials said.

The officer pulled him over and learned Caldwell was driving with no insurance and an expired registration, authorities said.

The cop impounded the vehicle and soon learned Caldwell was in the hole for the unpaid tolls, the PA Police Department said.

Caldwell was charged with larceny, obstructing governmental administration and traffic violations.

Brooklyn

An armed, masked man fired a bullet through the door of a Sheepshead Bay home, police investigators said on Wednesday.

The gunman walked up the stoop of the home at Brigham Street and Avenue X and rang the doorbell at 12:05 a.m. on July 6.

He then blasted a round through the door and fled. No one was injured. He was described as his mid-20s, about 6 feet tall and 180 pounds.

He was wearing a commando sweater with a hood covering his face, and dark cargo pants.

Cops searching for a man who allegedly slashed his brother found two starving dogs in the suspect’s East New York apartment.

Members of the NYPD’s Warrants Division arrived at the apartment on Chestnut Street near Pitkin Avenue Tuesday at about 7:50 a.m., peered through the basement window and spotted two pit-bull-lab mixes, about six months old, in a bathroom covered in feces and urine. Both were had been left without food or water.

The suspect, Devon Fen- ton, 25, was not at home, but cops later picked him up at his brother’s home on Doscher Street.

Cops brought the pups, Chestnut and Doscher — named after the nearby streets — to the 75th Precinct station house, where they were fed. Officers later brought them to the ASPCA.

Fenton was hit with an animal-cruelty charge as well as second-degree assault for slashing his brother in the hand with a knife during an argument back in March, officials said.

Queens

Police are looking for a man who threatened to kill an EMT in Laurelton.

The 50-year-old woman EMT was in a marked FDNY vehicle on Merrick Boulevard when the man walked up and told her, “I’m sick of you guys ratting us out to the police! I’m going to come back and kill you all!”

The man then drove off in a BMW, according to authorities.

The EMT wrote down the man’s license-plate number and turned it over to police, who tracked down the vehicle and impounded it.

The menacing suspect remained at at large.

Police are looking for three men and a tall woman (above) who have allegedly robbed at least four cellphone stores around the borough.

Two of the suspects — one of whom was armed — walked into a Hi Point Wireless store on Myrtle Avenue in Ridgewood at 1:30 p.m. on Aug. 21, and forced an employee into a back room, authorities said.

They stole 30 phones and fled in a black, four-door sedan, officials said.

About an hour later, two of the men walked into a T-Mobile store on Parsons Boulevard in Kew Gardens with hoods over their heads, forced an employee into a back room and stole an iPhone and $600.

The men fled in a white Nissan Maxima.

Last Thursday, two of the gang robbed an AT&T store on Union Turnpike in Glen Oaks and stole 29 phones and more than $300, authorities said.

Five days later, two of the thieves struck again, ordering a 22-year-old employee to open a safe at a Verizon store on Union Turnpike and fleeing with about 20 phones, officials said.

The three men are between 5-foot-6 and 6 feet tall and wore hoodies and do-rags to hide their faces.

The woman is 6 feet tall and weighs about 120 pounds.

The Bronx

A pedestrian died after being struck in Morris Park by two cars — one of which fled, authorities said Wednesday.

The 65-year-old man was walking across Bronxdale Avenue near Barnes Avenue when he was hit by a light-colored van at around 9:15 p.m. Tuesday, officials said.

His body was propelled into the air and then struck by a dark green Honda Odyssey traveling in the opposite direction of the van on Bronxdale Avenue.

The driver of the van sped off, but the 33-yearold woman behind the wheel of the Odyssey remained and was not charged, cops said.

The victim was pronounced dead at Jacobi Medical Center.

His identity is being withheld pending family notification.
