DISCOVERY Communications

boss David Zaslav has been going deep into the sports world, meeting sports federations around the globe and having chats with the International Olympics Committee.

The Olympics arrive on Discovery’s Eurosport network in 2018. So no wonder his end-of-the summer bash was scheduled to be thick with sports stars.

Slated to attend the Saturday night party in East Hampton were tennis legends Serena Williams, Henri Leconte and Mats Wilander.

The event is starting to look like Sun Valley East, with Russian billionaire Yuri Milner set to rub shoulders with invitees like Goldman Sachs boss Lloyd Blankfein, Credit Suisse’s vice chair of investment banking, Fred Terrell, and investor Mario Gabelli also on the list.

Tyler Perry, Lorne Michaels and Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer were also expected, but it’s OTM’s guess that Jon Bon Jovi and Dorothea Hurley (pictured) will hit the dance floor for snowy-haired rocker Rod Stewart, who’s the crooner in charge this year. Photos please of Barry Diller, or anyone else, lipsyncing Stewart’s classic “Da Ya Think I’m Sexy?”

On the Money hears Milner, who is a big Facebook investor, is having his own Hamptons party on Sunday.

Gettin’ Downey

A wannabe Bloomberg terminal killer is taking aim at the university set.

Money.net, run by former Bloomberg exec Morgan Downey, has struck a deal with more than 100 colleges and universities throughout the US this school year in a bid to get finance students hooked on its data software — and to try to unseat the former mayor’s hardware business.

The software, which costs as little as $1,500 a year, will be available for students at The Wharton School, New York University and Fordham University. A single Bloomberg terminal can cost $24,000 a year.

“The older generation, these are traditional Bloomberg users,” Downey told On the Money.ney. “The structure of the workforce in banks is changing and becoming much younger and more dynamic.” Money.net, which Downey founded in 2014, hass been locked in competion with his former employer for its share ofo the Wall Street market. While Downey braggedgged about “double-digit month-on-month” user growth, he remained mum on the number of users.

Bloomberg declined to comment.

Headachee

Scott Gilchrist, thehe son of former Buffaloo Bills star Carlton “Cookie” Gilchrist, iss following in his father’sr’s footsteps as a rebel with a cause.

Cookie’s estate is thehe only one among nearly 20,000,000 players — and familieses ofof de-deceased players — challeng-allenging the NFL’s $1 billionon con-con- cussion settlement. The ap-appeal will likely delay pay-payments to everyone foror months.

Scott Gilchrist is manag-anaging his father’s estate afterafter the former player dieddinin 2011 from CTE, the degenerative brain disease linked to repeated head hits.

Part of Scott’s complaint is that living players can receive a maximum of $5 million under the settlement, while families of CTE victims have a lower maximum of $4 million.

Cookie was a civil rights actactivist who boycottedted the 1965 AFL All-StarStar GamGame in New Orleans because of the city’s segregation, segre ga ti and often warred with his own coaches.coaches ScottGilchrist didn’t returncalls
