I did it, says mall ‘killer’

-

The man accused of killing five people in a Washington state shopping mall before leading police on a nearly 24-hour manhunt has confessed to the slayings, according to court documents released Monday.

Arcan Cetin told detectives “he did bring the rifle into Macy’s and shot all five victims,” documents filed in Skagit County court state.

He was arrested Saturday for the Friday-night attack at the Cascade Mall in Burlington, north of Seattle.

Cetin, 20, faces five charges of premeditated murder. He made his first court appearance Monday morning.

Authorities asked that he be held on a $2 million bond.

A neighbor described Cetin as so “creepy, rude and obnoxious” that she kept a Taser by her front door. Cetin also had a string of runins with the law in recent years, including charges he assaulted his stepfather.

Authorities said Cetin opened fire in the department store’s cosmetics department at around 6:58 p.m., killing a man and four women ranging from a teenager to a senior citizen. The gunman then fled.
