Boy set fatal home fire

A Syracuse house fire that killed a boy, 8, and girl, 4, this month was set by their 12-year-old brother, a fire-department report revealed Monday.

The boy used a lighter to ignite paper on Sept. 1, and the flame spread to fabric and the house, the Syracuse Fire Department said. He was charged in Family Court with second-degree manslaughter.
