Trump trashes mission

Donald Trump called the battle to retake the ISISheld Iraqi city of Mosul a “total disaster” on Twitter Sunday night.

“We gave them months of notice,” Trump wrote. “U.S. is looking so dumb. VOTE TRUMP and WIN AGAIN!”

An Iraq-led coalition of 100,000 troops has been moving on Mosul since Monday, getting to within five miles of the city.

Officials expect intense street fighting to break out in the coming days as the troops make their way into the outskirts of the city.

An Iraqi official told CNN that ISIS executed around 40 people after they were caught celebrating the “liberation” of their villages by the Iraqi forces.

The Trump tweet sparked a slew of nasty responses from users who noted reports on Sunday saying Kurdish Peshmerga forces were advancing quickly, liberating surrounding communities and pushing back ISIS militants with ease.

“Do you even read papers or pay attention in your intel briefings? Coalition forces making rapid progress. You’re unfit,” wrote user @no2narcissists.

Another tweeter wrote, “Are you aware that it’s the Iraqi army & they’re winning?? Also — the warning was given to save civilians.”

User @prosediva said, “Not sure what planet you are on. 100,000 troops have been closing in on Mosul since Monday.”
