NJT getting brake fix

New Jersey Transit’s board voted Wednesday to secure the final piece of radio-frequency spectrum it needs to install an automatic train braking system.

The agency will lease the frequency from New York’s Metropolit­an Transporta­tion Authority for 50 years. The lack of such a system may have contribute­d to last month’s deadly Hoboken train crash.
