Reality-TV hubby sued for rent ‘con’

- Julia Marsh

A composer is suing the estranged husband of former “Real Housewives of New York City” star Jules Wainstein, claiming the man “rented” him an apartment he didn’t own in the Apthorp on the Upper West Side.

Jonathan Sheffer, who has written music for films, says in the Manhattan Supreme Court suit that he was “tricked” into paying Michael Wainstein $26,700 in rent for a unit at the famed Broadway building, but was never ever able to occupy it because it was actually owned by Jules, who is divorcing Michael.

Morghan Richardson, an attorney for Michael, denied the allegations.
