Cowboys’ Romo throws again

-

Tony Romo participated in throwing drills at practice Wednesday for the first time since the Cowboys quarterback broke a bone in his back in a preseason game at Seattle in August. Romo almost certainly won’t play against the Eagles on Sunday, but it’s the biggest step in his latest return from injury.

Broncos running back C.J. Anderson was sent for a second opinion on his ailing right knee. NFL Network reported Anderson is expected to miss at least a few weeks, and possibly the rest of the season. The Broncos got good news when linebacker DeMarcus Ware returned to practice for the first time since breaking his right forearm in a game Sept. 18. Ware also learned Denver police had apprehended two suspects in a Monday burglary of his home and recovered his stolen Super Bowl 50 ring.

Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson was a limited participant in practice, listed with knee and pectoral injuries. Seattle also released veteran running back C.J. Spiller and signed fullback Will Tukuafu.
