Loretta Lynch’s Legacy: Making a Mockery of Justice
The Post’s editorial, “Justice Dept. Injustice,” discusses Attorney General Loretta Lynch’s carefully calculated decision to replace an “entire team of FBI agents and federal prosecutors who refused to reach what apparently was a pre-determined outcome in the Eric Garner case” (Oct. 26).
This is just the latest example of a Justice Department that no longer has — nor deserves — the full faith and trust of the American people.
Should Donald Trump actually win the presidency, his promise to “drain the swamp” in Washington, DC, should begin with our Justice Department. Bob Moffitt Sloatsburg
Lynch is blindsided by her problematic agenda.
Her current move to bypass local investigators and rekindle the Garner investigation, which to date hasn’t resulted in an indictment, is dubious.
Is it possible that Officer Daniel Pantaleo, not indicted at the state level, will be railroaded by a group of handpicked investigators with marching orders to prosecute? Will they just disregard all the evidence, which to date has not resulted in any criminal charges?
Why else would Lynch order this reinvestigation unless the outcome is predictable? John Gargiulo Whitestone Lynch should be ashamed of herself for going on a complete witch hunt against Officer Pantaleo.
Two separate investigations into the incident proved nothing, and no indictment was ever brought against Pantaleo.
Lynch shouldn’t try to make something out of nothing just to please some people. She should have fought this hard for an indictment against Hillary Clinton for her obvious misdeeds.
Lynch has proven to be incapable of doing her job as attorney general properly. She should resign. Joseph Cavaliere Valley Stream
Lynch has no interest in prosecuting the impossibly corrupt Clinton, but she can’t wait to persecute Pantaleo with federal charges.
Unlike the Clintons, Pantaleo is just a poor cop with absolutely nothing to offer Lynch.
