Darrelle: I don’t need an agent

- By BRIAN COSTELLO

Darrelle Revis has made plenty of news through the years with his contract negotiations. The next time he is at the bargaining table, though, he will have a different view.

Revis fired longtime agents Neil Schwartz and Jonathan Feinsod in May. He does not plan on replacing them.

“I’m not going to have representation,” Revis told The Post this week. “I feel through all the years I’ve learned a lot. Don’t get me wrong … with all the craziness that is going on, me and my former agents have done some great things together. ... At the same time, I had to move forward. I’ll represent myself and go from there.”

Revis may be asked to take a pay cut by the Jets this offseason. He is scheduled to be paid $15 million in 2017, but the Jets are not going to want to pay that to a 32-year-old cornerback after a down season. They could just cut him and eat the $6 million guaranteed the contract calls for or they could approach him about reducing the overall number.

Revis said he is not worried about a difficult negotiation.

“Mike [Maccagnan] and Todd [Bowles] are two guys who work well together,” Revis said. “My process coming back was a smooth process. We’ll have to talk about that, too. It will be a discussion about what’s best — what’s best for the team, what’s best for me — and we’ll go from there. It’s very simple. It’s not a tug and pull type thing. It’s seeing what is best for the team and me personally.”

Revis said he anticipates this being easier than any of his prior discussion with the team.

“I think the situation will be easier with whatever we need to discuss with this ballclub and me still being here,” he said. “They definitely know I want to retire as a Jet. That was one of the first discussions of coming back here. That’s still in play. They know that’s dear to me. That’s why I wanted to come back. I never wanted to leave.”
