- By PAUL SCHWARTZ

Odell Beckham Jr. was fined $12,154 for verbal abuse and excessive profanity toward an official on the field after the Giants’ 24-14 loss to the Steelers last Sunday in Pittsburgh. Beckham also could be hit with an additional fine for his comments about the officiating in the locker room after the game.

The Giants’ mercurial receiver has received five known fines for his on-field behavior this season and has been docked $108,926.

Beckham took a further dig in at the officials Wednesday.

“Everyone knows what’s going on on the field,’’ Beckham said. “Everyone can see it. Stevie Wonder can see it. It just is what it is. You can’t do anything about it. There’s no point.’’

Safety Eric Pinkins, in his first game for the Giants, also was fined $24,309 for a block on a kickoff late in the second quarter.

PANTHERS: Coach Ron Rivera said three-time All-Pro middle linebacker Luke Kuechly will play against the Chargers on Sunday if he’s cleared from the NFL’s concussion protocol.

The NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 2013 has missed the last two games with a concussion and is listed as questionable.

VIKINGS: Standout safety Harrison Smith was ruled out Friday with a severely sprained left ankle, while center Joe Berger will miss his second straight game with a concussion on Sunday against the Jaguars.

BRONCOS: Linebacker Brandon Marshall posted on social media a racist, threatening letter that denounced him for taking a knee during the national anthem earlier this season. He said he wanted to expose the racism that exists in society.

Marshall said he received the letter a couple of weeks ago and turned it over to the team’s security department, which has been in contact with the NFL and local law enforcement.

SAINTS: Safety Kenny Vaccaro will serve a four-game suspension, starting this Sunday at Tampa Bay, because he violated rules pertaining to performance enhancing drug use. —
