KNICKS NOTES

-

“I got a lot of friends in the league,’’ Durant said at the Warriors’ morning shootaround. “I got calls throughout the summer. But I made best decision I wanted to make, the best decision for me, I’m happy I’m here. All that stuff is in the past. Melo and I remain great friends. That’s what’s most important. We didn’t let that get in between the friendship.”

Durant was unclear if the Knicks made a formal pitch. He met with three other teams — the Clippers, Heat and Celtics — in addition to the Warriors and Thunder, his former team.

“I thought about the teams that I met with that’s who I sat down with,’’ Durant said. “I was locked in on what I had in front of me. So I got a great respect for Phil Jackson and the Knicks organization. Melo, especially. But nah, we moved on. There’s nothing more than that.”

Jackson joined the Knicks at their shootaround at the Olympic Club and impolitely declined comment.

“Not to you,’’ he said when asked if he wanted to talk.

Jackson hasn’t talked to the writers covering the team since Sept. 22. When he took the job, he vowed to repair the broken relationship the Knicks’ front office had with the media.

Anthony said he was glad a tentative agreement was reached on a new collective bargaining agreement.

“I think this still gives us time to continue the dialogue with the NBA and tighten things up,’’ he said.
