McAdoo silent on walkietalkies

- By BART HUBBUCH

Ben McAdoo was not forthcoming about the Giants’ walkietalkie controversy Friday, other than to say the team is cooperating with the NFL’s investigation.

The league is looking into McAdoo’s use of a two-way radio in the fourth quarter of the Giants’ 10-7 victory over the Cowboys, when his headset communication with Eli Manning briefly stopped working.

The Cowboys brought the matter to the NFL’s attention, and a league source told The Post on Thursday the Giants are expected to receive a fine — the maximum penalty available — for the infraction.

“We’ve touched base with the league, and we’re working through it right now,” McAdoo said Friday. “I don’t have anything to add, but we are working with the league on the incident.”

McAdoo declined to answer two more questions about the incident, other than to repeat the Giants were cooperating. Offensive line coach Mike

Solari didn’t exactly come to the defense of beleaguered left tackle Ereck Flowers on Friday.

But Solari doesn’t think benching the former firstround pick is the answer, either.

“I don’t believe in that,” Solari said of the benching. “I believe, again, he’s got to keep rolling, he’s got to gain confidence and he’s got to trust his techniques. That’s what I believe.”

Left guard Justin Pugh was not on the injury report Friday, paving the way for his return Sunday against the Lions at MetLife Stadium after a five-game absence due to a sprained knee.

“Justin has practiced well this week, so we’ll take a look at him again tomorrow in practice,” McAdoo said. “He’s a good player, he’s been a good player for us, and when we can get him, as soon as we can get him back, we’ll take him.”
