Tot slain in road rage

Shot while grandma waited at stop sign

A road-rage driver shot into a woman’s car, killing her 3-year-old grandson, because she “wasn’t moving fast enough at a stop sign,” cos in Arkansas said Sunday.

The horrific incident unfolded at around 6:20 p.m. Saturday when the fuming motorist stepped out of his black Chevrolet Impala and opened fire into the car of 47year-old Little Rock resident Kim King-Macon, police said.

King-Macon was going shopping with tragic Acen King (inset) and a 1-year-old in her 2006 Dodge Char- ger at the time, she told police.

The Impala’s driver was behind her at the stop sign and honked his horn for her to hurry up and move, according to King-Macon. She honked back.

“Apparently she didn’t roll through [the stop sign] fast enough,” Little Rock Police Department Lt. Steve McClanahan told The Post on Sunday. “The driver of the Impala became irritated and irate, stepped out and fired a shot.”

King-Macon then drove 10 miles to a JC Penney, unaware that her grandson had been mortally wounded, and called for help, according to police.

The little boy was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was declared dead. “She was just driving, she was just getting away,” McClanahan said of King-Macon’s continued trip to the store. “I’m not a medical doctor, but if [the child] were shot, he could have been incapacitated and not made a sound . . . We believe she and the victim were completely innocent and they have no relationship with the suspect.”

Detectives on Sunday scoured the area where the shooting occurred looking for any surveillance cameras that might have captured the deadly incident or caught an image of the Impala.

Cops gave only a vague description of the suspect, calling him a tall black man. They announced a $20,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in the case.
