Bill blames FBI, Russia

- Carl Campanile

It’s a bitter Bill. Former President Bill Clinton on Monday blamed the FBI and Russian hacking for wife Hillary’s defeat to Donald Trump in November’s presidential election.

Bill Clinton made the claim after solemnly casting the first vote for the defeated Democratic presidential nominee during a meeting of New York’s Electoral College in Albany.

“I was never prouder to cast a vote. I watched her work for two years. I watched her battle that bogus e-mail deal . . . She prevailed against it all,” the former president said during a brief press gaggle in the well of the state Senate chamber.

“Then, in the end, we had the Russians and the FBI deal. She couldn’t prevail against that. She did everything else, and still won by 2.8 million votes,” he added.

During a recent visit to a bookstore in Katonah, Westchester, Bill Clinton also pinned the blame for Hillary’s loss on FBI Director James Comey, who made conflicting statements about the e-mail case during the campaign’s final days.

“James Comey cost her the election,” Clinton told customers, according to the BedfordPound Ridge Record Review.

He also took a shot at President-elect Donald Trump.

Asked if Trump was smart, Clinton said, “He doesn’t know much. One thing he does know is how to get angry white men to vote for him.”
