Michelle Obama’s Audacity of Hopelessness
Considering the mess that her husband is leaving behind, it’s understandable why Michelle Obama is feeling hopeless (“Our hope has been dashed: Michelle,” Dec. 17). Nicholas Maffei Bronxville
Michelle said President Obama campaigned on the promise to restore “hope,” but that has been eliminated with the election of Donald Trump.
She says “hope is necessary.” Right, but problem-solving is much more important and Obama has caused huge problems.
Did “hope” bring us the ObamaCare mess? Did hope see us turning over $50 billion to Iran? Did hope create stability in the Middle East?

Michelle said that now that Trump is going to be president, there’s no more hope.
But Barack gave us hope? Oh, yeah, he sure did.
“If you like your plan, you can keep your plan” sure gave me a lot of hope. Let’s not forget the hope he gave the Syrian people when he drew that “red line.”
