They’re not feeling the love in California.

The state’s 2016 birthrate fell to its lowest level since 1933, with 12.42 live births per 1,000 people between July 1, 2015, and July 1, 2016.

Demographe­rs said the low 1933 and 2016 birth rates are both tied to economics, but opposite ends.

Of course, 1933 was at the depth of the Great Depression. And now in tech-boom California, more people are going to college — which puts off childbirth.
