After the Berlin Attack, Fight Back Against Terror

-

President Obama stated: “The United States condemns in the strongest terms what appears to have been a terrorist attack on a Christmas market in Berlin, Germany, which has killed and wounded dozens” (“Trucker Fiend on Loose,” Dec. 21).

He forgot to mention that his administration wants to increase our susceptibility to these attacks by importing refugees from the Middle East. I guess the Obama administration wants us to have the same kind of regrets as our European allies. Lou Canto Norwalk, Conn.

As Americans, we put a high premium on the value of life. However, we’re currently faced with an enemy that puts no premium on the value of life and will use the innocent as a shield to ward off attack.

We have seen the slaughter of innocents in France, Germany, Syria and many other countries, as well as here in the United States.

The longer we wait to launch a full-scale attack on ISIS, the longer innocent American lives will be at risk. James League Elmhurst

The latest terrorist attack in Berlin and the assassination of the Russian ambassador to Turkey in Ankara are very stark and terrifying reminders that the scourge of terrorism continues to rear its ugly head and strike like a coiled cobra.

It’s high time the United States and Russia put aside their geopolitical differences and really make a concerted effort to work together to wipe terrorism from the face of the earth. John Amato Fresh Meadows

Once again the world was assaulted by terrorism. Those who lived through 9/11 will never forget how the world changed that morning. It hit home that day and continues to hit home.

It’s time to make the world safe again for all peace-loving peoples. Salvator Giarratani Boston, Mass.
