MARINE XMAS
NYC restaurants serve up Seven Fishes (more or less)
EVEN if you don’t have a nonna in Bensonhurst, you can still enjoy the Feast of Seven Fishes on Christmas Eve. Restaurants are serving up their takes on the traditional Italian-American meal with course after course — though sometimes it might just be four or five fishes, not seven — of delicious seafood. Here are seven spots for Seven Fishes.
At his beloved East Village restaurant Hearth, chef Marco Canora will serve his annual fishy feast with dishes such as marinated seafood salad and linguine with littleneck clams. $96, plus $54 for wine pairings. 403 E. 12th St., at First Avenue; 646-602-1300
The new Casa Apicii in Greenwich Village will offer a five-course menu of California-kissed Italian fare, such as crab salad with roasted beets, orange and tarragon. $95. 62 W. Ninth St.;
212-353-8400
Fort Greene newcomer LaRina Pastificio & Vino, whose chef Silvia Barban is currently competing on “Top Chef,” will have the feast for both brunch and dinner. For one of the courses, Barban will be making a special giant ravioli filled with risotto and studded with shellfish. $75. 387 Myrtle Ave., Fort Greene; 718-852-0001 At just $65, the four- course feast at Davio’s Northern Italian Steakhouse in Midtown is a bargain. Plus, there’s chocolate cassata with eggnog gelato and kettle corn for dessert. $65. 447 Lexington Ave.; 212-661-4810 The East Village’s popular Saxon+Parole is serving a four-course, family-style dinner that starts with deviled eggs topped with smoked trout roe and ends with s’mores. $85. 316 Bowery; 212-254-0350 At Leuca, pasta master Andrew Carmellini will offer a four-course feast of Southern Italian seafood dishes. $90, plus $50 for wine pairings. 111 North 12th St., Williamsburg; 718-581-5900
