Protecting Vulnerable Kids: The City’s Dropping the Ball

THE ISSUE: Children dying of abuse despite multiple complaints to the Administration for Children’s Services.

-

The kids dying at the Administration for Children’s Services will change nothing but bring in new bodies for the same jobs (“10 More Zymeres,” Dec. 22).

Mandatory parenting classes for all adults living in the household would help, as would anger-management and domestic-violence education.

Meanwhile, Mayor de Blasio only suffers for a few days. That’s not enough.

The mayor needs to be held accountable for any child who dies under his watch. Maybe he can start feeling the pain so many of these kids feel daily. J. Cohren Bayside

There are hundreds of thousands of kids in this city and it’s ludicrous to think ACS — an underfunded, government-run bureaucracy — can keep track of them all.

If a child isn’t properly cared for, let’s put the blame where it should be — on the parents. Or, more likely nowadays, the parent.

Take care of your damn kids, folks. Or better yet, don’t have them in the first place. Scott Jones New City

If Mayor de Blasio isn’t a walking disaster in a necktie, I don’t know who is.

He’s failed at protecting our children, ignores our homeless — heck, he couldn’t even take care of one single solitary deer.

Honestly, what’s this guy good for?

Oh wait, I’ve got it — he’s good for nothing. John Sollitto Brooklyn

It’s a terrible shame the de Blasio administration has been more proactive in trying to rid the streets of carriage horses than in protecting the lives of New York City’s children. Kevin Hanley Woodhaven

Are New Yorkers so numb and so dumb as to not rebel against what de Blasio is doing to the innocent people of New York? Children died of child abuse because he hired incompetent people to run the ACS.

How many more are going to die?

No doubt de Blasio hires people more idiotic then he is just to feel better about himself. He’s a fake and a phony in every way.

He should leave New York and go to his sanctuary city — Havana. Imelda De Martin Red Bank, NJ
