‘HATE’ SCALPING

Sick tormenters chant, ‘F* Trump’

- By CHRIS PEREZ

A mentally disabled white man was tied up and tortured in Chicago by a group of African-Americans — who shouted, “F--k Donald Trump” as they sliced off a piece of his scalp with a knife and broadcast the act live on Facebook, cops said.

At least four of the victim’s alleged captors were taken into custody Wednesday after the man was found wandering a street Tuesday near the house where the attack took place.

Police officials told the Chicago Sun-Times that they were made aware of the video on Tuesday afternoon and that the victim — believed to be in his late teens or early 20s — is at a hospital.

“F--k Donald Trump, n---a, f--k white people!” one of the sus- pects is heard telling the man in the video, which was livestreamed for some 30 minutes. The victim is repeatedly pummeled as he sits on a floor, his hands tied and his mouth taped.

At one point, a man cuts his scalp with a knife.

“My sister said this is not funny, y’all,” says the girl behind the camera, who can be seen puffing on a cigar and laughing.

“S--t, it’s funny to me,” one of the suspects replies. “Tell Donald Trump it’s not funny.”

Later in the video, someone urges the man to say, “I love black people.”

Police said the victim is believed to be from the suburb of Crystal Lake. They added he knows at least one of the attackers from school and may have willingly gone with his abusers.

The man was treated for cuts and burns, officials said. No charges have been filed, but police were still questioning the suspects, according to reports.

One community activist in Chicago, Andrew Holmes, labeled the incident a “hate crime,” saying it fits within the law’s basic parameters.

“In so many ways, this was a hate crime because of what they said to him — saying he’s with Trump,” Holmes told the Sun- Times. “When you make a person say, ‘I love black people,’ that’s a hate crime all the way.”

Holmes said he hopes the video does not spark racial backlash.

“Let the chips fall where they may, and let the judicial system work,” he said.

Chicago Police Department spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said, “The video is reprehensible.”
