Weird BUT true

- David K. Li, Wires

New Hampshire’s latest governor will be stepping down Thursday — after a rare two-day term.

Chuck Morse, the GOP state Senate president, became acting governor at 12:01 a.m. Tuesday through an electoral calendar quirk — when ex-Gov. Maggie Hassan was sworn in to the US Senate.

Morse will be out at noon Thursday when Gov.-elect Chris Sununu is sworn in.

It wasn’t clear if Morse’s portrait will join other governors’ in the statehouse. Hard to Trump this tale. Two men in Donald Trump masks, yelling the incoming president’s name, made a scene boxing each other in a Lowe’s housewares store in Richmond, Va. The men smacked each other hard, fell and knocked down merchandise, said one witness.

Cops were called but there were no arrests. The men insisted they were joking around.

It took a good old-fashioned cowboy to grab a runaway calf on a modern Tennessee highway.

Henry County Sheriff Monte Belew planted David Bevill, rope in hand, tengallon hat on head, on the hood of Belew’s squad car.

It took just one throw for Bevill to lasso the runaway calf, according to a popular video posted on the sheriff ’s Facebook page.

Call it bank robbery Hawaiian-style.

Big Island police are looking for a man who robbed an American Savings Bank in Kealakekua this week.

The bandit was described as a man in his late 30s with flowery blue shorts, a darkblue shirt — and no shoes.

A Starbucks barista won a heckuva latte cash.

Damon Graham won Las Vegas’ most prestigious NFL handicapping competition, worth nearly $900,000.

Graham, 32, who ended the season with a record of 54-28-3, said he plans to keep his coffee job.

“I’ll keep working and not do anything crazy.”
