‘Blue lines’ tribute push
Two New Jersey congressmen have introduced legislation to let towns honor fallen police by painting blue lines on roads.
The bill, from Republican US Rep. Leonard Lance and Democratic US Rep. Bill Pascrell, follows regulators’ claims the tributes violate federal safety rules.
Thin blue lines — which represent the role law enforcement plays, standing between law-abiding citizens and criminals — appeared on roads after more than 100 cops were killed in the line of duty last year.
