Cuervo battles Macklowe

-

TOUGH Manhattan real estate titan Harry

Macklowe may have finally met his match — he’s being sued by Jose Cuervo billionaire Juan Beck

mann Vidal over a flood in his NYC landmark luxury skyscraper 432 Park Avenue.

Beckmann — the Mexican president of the tequila empire, who famously refuses to be intimidated by drug cartels — and his wife, Doris, bought a $46.25 million apartment at Macklowe Properties and CIM Group’s 1,396-foot-tall tower on what is known as “Billionaire’s Row.”

A real estate insider exclusively tells Page Six, “Juan Beckmann Vidal is suing Macklowe because of a flood that he says wrecked the apartment before they closed on it. He and his wife, Doris, want their $11.56 million deposit back and are refusing to close on the property.”

Beckmann, who currently lives at the Plaza and is said to be worth $2.4 billion, bought the new pad in 2013, but filed a suit in New York Supreme Court last month, claiming a “catastrophic water flood” on Nov. 5 affected floors 83 through 86, damaged several rooms in the apartment, “saturating multiple layers of insulation and sheetrock, penetrating the walls and internal support beams and electrical wires, and infiltrating the marble and wood flooring throughout,” according to the Real Deal. He alleges Macklowe and CIM didn’t properly repair the damage and refused to refund his deposit.

Other buyers in the building are said to include

Lew Sanders, who paid $60.89 million for a penthouse. The highest pad in the tower sold to Saudi billionaire Fawaz Al Hokair for $88 million. Another wealthy Saudi, Hamza Al Kholi, last month sued Macklowe for the second time, alleging he was cheated out of a 2-percent equity stake in 432 Park Avenue’s retail space.

Macklowe’s lawyers are busy — he’s also in the middle of a messy divorce with his estranged wife,

Linda, whom he left after 57 years of marriage. Harry also filed an astonishing lawsuit against his own son, Billy Macklowe, last year over Internet domain names.

A rep for Macklowe declined to comment. Cuervo reps didn’t get back to us.
