MADGE’S NEW KIDS

Adopts twins from Malawi

Madonna has welcomed twin sisters from Malawi into her family, expanding her brood to six, she confirmed Wednesday.

The Material Girl shared a heartwarming picture of herself hand-in-hand with the adorable 4¹/2-year-olds on her Instagram feed.

“I can officially confirm I have completed the process of adopting twin sisters from Malawi and am overjoyed that they are now part of our family,” she wrote.

“I am deeply grateful to all those in Malawi who helped make this possible, and I ask the media please to respect our privacy during this transitional time.”

Madge began the process of adopting Stella and Esther two years ago and walked out of Malawian court with them Tuesday after a judge approved her application.

“You could see the love she had for them in her face, and she was already a mother to them. The girls are very happy and very excited about what is happening to them,” court-appointed guardian Dominic Misomali told the Daily Mail.

Madonna, 58, was expected to return to New York with the twins later in the day via a private jet.

Her other children are David Banda and Mercy James, both 11, whom she also adopted from Malawi, and Lourdes Leon, 20, whose father is Carlos Leon, and Rocco Ritchie, 16, whose father is Madonna’s ex, film director Guy Ritchie.

It’s the first time the twins have ever left the country after growing up in an orphanage following their mother’s death, the Mail reported.

Misomali, who was there when Madonna’s application was approved, said the love between Madge and the twins was on full display in court.

“You could see the motherly love from Madonna to the girls. They were so happy, and Madonna was showing all her motherly instincts. She let one of the girls take off her glasses and put them on,” he said.

The girls’ father and uncle were also present in the courtroom, according to Malawi’s judiciary spokesman, Mlenga Mvula.

The twins’ mother died in August 2012, a week after delivering them, Mvula told People magazine.

“After their mother died, the children were looked after by their grandmother, who could not fully provide for them, so they were taken into an orphanage,” Mvula added.

The news comes only two weeks after Madonna denied she was adopting more children from the African country.
